Two-piece or three-piece?
The two-piece is the versatile standard, from the office to attending a wedding as a guest. The three-piece adds the waistcoat: a more structured silhouette, a more formal register, and elegance preserved once the jacket comes off — decisive at formal occasions. As many of our suits are sold as separates, you can add the waistcoat later.
How do you check that a suit is the right size?
Shoulders first: the seam falls exactly at the bone, neither before nor after — it is the only area that is difficult to alter. When buttoned, the jacket does not pull at the button; its length covers your seat. The sleeves show 1 to 2 cm of shirt cuff. The trousers break slightly over the shoe. Everything else (waist, lengths) is easy to alter.
What colour for your first suit?
Navy blue, without hesitation: it works for the office, weddings and interviews, goes with almost every shirt and is easy to wear as separates. Your second should be grey (mid grey or charcoal). Only then come the colours with personality: British racing green, summer beige, subtle patterns.
How do you care for your suit?
Air it for 24 h after each wear, on a wide hanger. Brush it in the direction of the fabric. Space out dry cleaning (2 to 3 times a year is enough for a suit in rotation). Remove creases with steam. Alternate between at least two suits to let the wool relax. Our washable styles make this routine radically simpler.
